These one-day programs are geared towards attorneys, mediators, coaches, and collaborative professionals who want to move their practice and expertise to a new level.

2/15/2023: MEDIATING PROPERTY ISSUES with Special Guest, Amy Clews, CPA, CVA, CDFA, CFE
This advanced training will focus on two of the most common and difficult issues in mediation: The Family Residence and Marital Business Interests. Learn practical tools and strategies for resolving these challenging issues including:
- Confidential Mini Evaluation (with demonstration and guest presentation by financial expert)
- Mediator Settlement Proposals
- Advanced Options for Marital Residence
We will discuss the nuances and ramifications of handling the house and marital business interests in mediation, along with the many options that face couples resolving these major assets.
3/22/2023: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: INTEGRATING MEDIATION AND COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE with Special Guest, Ron Ousky, Founder of Collaborative Alliance in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Past President, IACP
Lawyers and experts can be key allies to help the parties reach agreement if the parties have more control over their selection and use. Based on Woody’s most recent ABA book, this advanced training will explore cutting edge strategies for you to help parties, neutral experts, and aligned professionals function successfully in the mediation.

5/3/2023: TOOLS & STRATEGIES FOR MEDIATORS WHEN DIVORCE MAY NOT BE THE ANSWER with Special Guests: Dawn Clement, JD, Mediator, Adjunct Professor at West Chester University; and Bill Doherty, Creator of Discernment Counseling and founder of the Doherty Relationship Institute
Experienced mediators need a range of tools to resolve difficult conflicts. When faced with seemingly intractable issues, these are the tools that can make all the difference!
This Advanced training will focus on the following:
- Discernment Counseling: Making an appropriate referral when one party is leaning out of the relationship and the other wants very much to stay in
- Marital Mediation
- Facilitated Family Decision-Making
- Temporary and Permanent Separation
The Mosten Guthrie One-Day Advanced Mediation Training courses are approved by the California State Bar for 4 hours (each) of California MCLE and Family Specialization participatory credit. Mosten Guthrie Academy is also approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (provider 75785) to sponsor Continuing Education and the March 22 and May 3 One-Day Advanced trainings meet the qualifications for 4 hours (each) of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Professionals in other states can request credit approval from their governing organizations.
This is a live, participatory training delivered in a supportive, dynamic, and interactive online forum. The content of the Advanced Mediation Training Series courses builds on our 40-Hour Family & Divorce Mediation Training and offers select combinations of cutting-edge skills and focused topic content.

Certificates: Mosten Guthrie Academy Course Completion Certificates will be awarded to those who completed the course and distributed after the last day of training, along with MCLE certificates (for attorneys), and CE certificates of attendance. Please note that mental health professionals are required to complete and return the CAMFT course evaluation form in order to receive the CE certificate of attendance.
